Chapter 8 I Have No Father
William was reprimanded by the doctor when he was innocent, and he was helpless and amused.
After losing his temper, the doctor said irritably, "The patient will stay in the hospital for observation tonight, and we will wait until she wakes up tomorrow. The hospitalization procedures should be done as soon as possible. Take care of her in the future and stop being so careless."
After the doctor finished it, he glared at William and then left.
Ian was relieved when he heard that his sister was fine. His tight back relaxed a little, and so did he.
William, who had been observing him, curled his lips, and he liked the little boy even more.
"Mister, when will your driver come?"
The parents of the two children seemed to have not been notified yet, and the witnesses of the man who claimed he was innocent had not arrived, either.
William glanced at his watch, and it was almost time.
"Mr. William!" The driver yelled and ran over, panting. He was dragging a man along him. He directly grabbed the man by the collar while dragging him over like a dead dog.
"Move over. You’d better behave!" The driver was not so polite to the bad guy who had tried to abduct Doris and said to him viciously. Then he directly threw him in front of the two policemen.
"This man is the suspect who wanted to abduct the child. If you don't believe it, you can interrogate him now."
Two policemen look at each other, and the older one looked at William, "Is it really not you?"
"I’m ready to cooperate with the investigation at any time."
"Well, we need to call the office."
After the officer finished it, he called the office and reported on the matter quickly.
"Kid, what is your name? Where are your parents?" The police squatted down in front of Ian, looked at him kindly, and asked.
Ian pursed his lips. He couldn't say that he and his sister had secretly returned to China without telling their mother. Otherwise, there would be more trouble.
He lowered his eyes, seemingly aggrieved and sad, but in fact, he wanted to cover up the light in his eyes, "Mommy is abroad and can't make it."
"Then... where is your father?"
"I have no father," Ian said. His thick eyelashes trembled, and the policeman thought he was sad, feeling sorrier for the boy.
"Then... we will stay with you in the hospital tonight and wait until your sister wakes up tomorrow. Okay?"
Ian pursed his lips. He wanted to refuse because it would be troublesome for the policemen to stay with him. He disliked trouble.
In comparison, he would rather stay with the man he had misunderstood.
But he had been misunderstood by him as a bad guy and almost gotten arrested. Would he agree to help him?
Ian glanced at William, who just happened to look over, and the eyes of the two met.
Oh, what a funny little boy.
William had overheard the conversation between the two kids at the airport, and of course, he knew why the little boy said that. Seeing his eyes again, he probably guessed his thoughts, and the corners of his lips rose silently.
"Just leave it to me here," William spoke suddenly, and the policemen and Ian couldn't help but look over at him.
Ian's eyes widened slightly in surprise. He couldn’t believe this man took the initiative to help him.
"Harry Kane, you go to the police station with the two policemen to explain things clearly."
Harry Kane was the name of William's driver and bodyguard.
"Yes, Mr. William."
After he finished it, he saw William's eyes and took his hint, and nodded invisibly.
The two policemen wanted to say something more, but Harry smiled and talked to them. He somehow convinced the policemen.
So they left with the suspect.
Only Ian and William were left in the corridor, and the atmosphere was a bit weird.
Ian raised his head to look at William and said earnestly, "Thank you, and I'm sorry."
The man had helped him, and he should thank him. He had misunderstood him before, so he should apologize.
Ian was open-minded, without the awkwardness or anxiety that William had imagined.
He froze for a moment and couldn't help laughing.
He was really a funny little boy.
