Chapter 3 An Accessory to the Marshal's Thigh
Less than two hours later, Janice and Cruz arrived at a military base not far from Carmel City.
They entered the conference room of the military building.
The room was crowded with senior generals.
The air was depressing and eerie.
When Janice was brought in, she was cringing and facing the floor, "Mr. Hahn, you want to see me?"
The others called him Marshal while Janice had been used to calling him Mr. Hahn since she was a child.
Wasn't this girl the apple of their marshal's eye?
Why did Cruz bring her back?
It was said that Janice's parents were both dead. At the age of eight, she was adopted by their marshal. The latter spoiled her very much. Even when a war was going on, he'd keep her by his side. She literally grew up in the barracks.
Like an accessory to their marshal's thigh, Janice was always with him.
Those soldiers in the barracks watched her grow up. Back when she was just adopted, she was very shy.
When they got familiar with each other, they found her cute and not as cold as she looked.
In front of acquaintances, she usually talked softly and liked to smile. When the marshal was busy, she'd sit there quietly reading books. Compared with her peers, she was steadier and more independent.
She was talented at shooting and boxing. Her current level was even higher than that of many veterans.
Strength talked in barracks.
Those generals and soldiers in garrison were convinced by her skills while people around Kameron all liked her.
If it weren't for the fact that Janice had to go to high school, their marshal would not have let her go.
It had been one year.
The girl became more good-looking. Her figure was as slim as the willow branch and her features were delicate. At that moment, she was wearing a plain, baggy school uniform.
But her curvy figure could not be concealed. Her long hair was even more beautiful than the clouds over the most famous Apsara Mountain in Carmel City.
There was no telling what a girl would look like when she grew up.
Cruz brought her here. Was she the mysterious helper? No way! Impossible!
Well…
Was it this girl?
People couldn't tear their eyes away from her.
Kameron glanced at the crowd before stating in a low, cold voice, "Mm, for business."
People shivered and snapped their gazes back.
Who were they gazing at?
A girl spoiled by their marshal like his own daughter. She would get married one day, but her partner would not be uncouth fellows like them.
If they looked at her again…
Their marshal would gouge their eyes out for sure!
"I was having a class, and you asked me to come. Mr. Hahn, my reputation at school would be damaged." Sweat seeped out of her forehead. She went over, clenched her teeth, and sat down on his lap like a spoiled child she used to be.
She wandered inwardly. Did Mr. Hahn learn about her poor grades? Wouldn't she be spanked?
She was screwed!
There was a faint scent of musk from his body. "Oh? Am I not as important as your reputation?"
"No, Mr. Hahn. You're certainly more important. I was wrong, sir." Daunted by the sulk in his eyes, Janice tried hard to please him.
"Really? You've learned to lie. Think you that I don't know about what you've done at school?" There was a hint of anger in his deep eyes. The air about him was sacrosanct.
Just then, Lieutenant Zayn Irwin, unaware of the situation, rushed in with a file in his hand, "Bad news, bad news, sir, a wild boy wrote a love letter for Miss Dillard."
