Chapter 4 Stifling a Meritorious Woman

"Miss Dillard, you're here."

At the sight of Janice, Zayn showed an awkward expression. Wasn't she supposed to have a class now?

He saw Kameron's gloomy face, bent down, and whispered in his ear, "It was from the young master of the Ferguson Family. I intercepted the love letter, so Miss Dillard doesn't know."

Janice wondered. A love letter? Why didn't she know?

Zayn whispered his report so sneakily.

What was going on here?

"You know what to do." Expressionless, Kameron glanced at the lieutenant indifferently.

"Yes, sir!" Zayn snapped to attention.

Then he turned around and got out of the tent.

Zayn had followed Kameron for many years and thus could even comprehend his wink.

Their marshal's message was clear. Mr. Ferguson's nephew, Cristian Ferguson, should wait for the punishment. He would not spare anyone who coveted Miss Dillard!

The young master of the Ferguson Family was so blind. There were so many debutantes in Carmel City. Why did he take a liking to the apple of their marshal's eye?

Suspicion grew stronger in Janice's eyes.

Didn't someone write her a love letter? Why was it dropped?

Even the messenger had left…

"Let's continue. Cop a plea."

Kameron's face turned cold instantly.

Facing the temperamental man, Janice felt at a loss. About the love letter? Puppy love was Mr. Hahn's taboo, but she didn't know anything about it.

"If it's about the love letter… I… I can explain. I never…" Janice said haltingly.

Kameron cut her short, "Zayn made a mistake about that."

"O…kay, actually, I'm not familiar with those people at school… heh heh…" A relieved Janice then remembered her poor grades and fidgeted.

She got a goose egg for each subject. Apparently, this matter was more serious.

Mr. Hahn would go bananas if he learned about it.

He was ruthless when he was mad!

And he killed people without batting an eyelid!

Those erring subordinates of his all came to bad ends.

"Mr. Hahn, I failed the test and hid the exam papers. Is it a big deal? Why the fuss? I promise you that I'll study harder." Janice recalled Mr. Hahn's spanking when she made mistakes in the past. The desperate girl threw herself at Kameron, held his neck, and begged for mercy, "This is really the last time I failed an exam this year. I promise I won't be held back. Please forgive me this time, sir."

"Turns out you hid your test papers."

There seemed to be a few big words written in his inky pupils. You were so capable, weren't you?

Turned out…

Well!

Mr. Hahn wasn't going to talk about her grades!

He knew nothing about it!

And she confessed on her own!

In front of so many people, she admitted hiding her test papers. How was she supposed to keep her chin high again in the barracks?

Janice moaned inwardly.

In the conference room…

The embarrassing matter about the girl was exposed.

The depressing air somehow became subtle.

Unable to hold back, those generals howled with laughter.

Janice wished the floor could open and swallow her.

Her face was burning and lost.

But now, embarrassment was secondary. She should figure out a way to get away with Mr. Hahn's punishment.

Her eyes swiveling, she promised tactfully, "Mr. Hahn, I promise I won't hide test papers again."

But if it were not about her grades, what else could it be?

She was urgently summoned to the barracks during a class.

"Zayn, show her." When Kameron faced the pretty girl in his arms, his eyes looked playful.

The slip was top secret, and he entrusted it to his right-hand man.

Zayn snapped to attention and saluted Kameron solemnly before giving the slip to Janice with both hands.

In a flash…

A bolt came down from the blue.

Janice stiffened and felt devastated.

Her identity in the Nine Continents Chamber of Commerce was exposed.

Sunset just reminded her in the telegram.

His words always proved correct.

What a doomsayer!

Janice knew that denying it would not work and thus stuck out her tongue, "Mr. Hahn, I admit it but for a fair reason. I can explain."

"Mm, I'm listening." He dropped his eyes and squinted at her.

His face was simply stunning.

His bushy eyebrows were inky and his thin lips pursed.

His features were sculpted and his contours flawless. He was like a god on earth.

Janice was captivated by his stunning appearance but soon snapped out of the daze under his awful air, "The situation was critical. If I didn't make a move, Sergio would be in trouble. The general is an old friend of mine."

Was this the point?

Was it about her willingness to help?

Janice had the power to mobilize the nation's top and most mysterious chamber of commerce. Wasn't this the point?

She was just a 16-year-old girl. How did she make it?

Those generals were shocked and full of doubt.

However…

It seemed that Kameron didn't plan to press, "Since the truth has come out in the wash, there is nothing to discuss. The meeting is dismissed."

Of course, no one dared challenge this prestigious man in the military.

Those generals snapped out of the shock and went out of the conference room one after another.

The smart girl took the chance to slip away, "Well, I should go too. Mr. Hahn, I have… a lot of… homework to do today."

"You did such a thing and still want to do your homework?"

Kameron clasped her waist. His other hand wildly unbuttoned the collar of his military uniform. Then he pinched her chin and kissed her tender lips.

Huh?

Mr. Hahn kissed her!

She helped Sergio Dunn. Wasn't he supposed to punish her?

Was this a reward?

Mmm…

Mr. Hahn was so hot.

His kiss could be counted as a reward.

Janice started to enjoy the kiss.

The man's lips were scalding and soft. His breath carried a faint fragrance of orchid musk.

After a while, Janice gasped for air, "Mr. Hahn, let… let go, I… I can't breathe. You… you're stifling the meritorious woman."
