Chapter 6 She Was Expelled
Janice raised her head, with tears welling in her eyes, "Mr. Hahn!"
She was emotionally touched.
It had been years since she offered incense to her parents. Their tombs must be overgrown with weeds. She needed to pull them up.
Her parents hadn't seen her for a long time. They must miss her very much.
To her surprise, the busy man kept in mind such trivial things about her.
"Don't rush to thank me, little thing. Go up to the next grade if you don't want a spanking." While she was deeply grateful, Kameron suddenly turned solemn, "The spanking will be hard."
Still immersed in the joy of paying homage to her parents with him, Janice threw her arms around his neck and pecked his handsome face, "I won't repeat a grade. On the contrary, I'll try my best to enter college and live up to your expectations."
It was getting late.
Janice had to attend class in Carmel City tomorrow.
Kameron's right-hand man, Zayn, rode her back to the Marshal's House.
Along the way, the lieutenant had a lot of questions to ask Janice, but Kameron sent them away back then, which showed his determination to keep Janice's secret.
He would be shot by the marshal if he got to the bottom of it.
Eight years ago, their marshal wanted to adopt a girl as cold as a wolf pup.
He objected.
Eight years later, the girl grew up into a fair lady.
Though she looked prettier than her peers, she was still an ordinary high school student.
Unexpectedly, she accessed mysterious power and did their marshal a big favor.
Though curious, the lieutenant didn't dare to ask about it.
"Thank you for your help this time. You saved the day." Zayn expressed his sincere gratitude.
Janice smiled faintly, "Don't mention it, we all work for the marshal."
Zayn didn't think it that way.
As Kameron's subordinates, they ought to carry out orders and shed blood.
She was different as she was the apple of their marshal's eye.
Military operations were not her concern. Even so, she was willing to help.
For the generals and soldiers in the barracks, it was a pleasant surprise.
Only he refrained from talking much about it.
Apart from thanking her, he had no authority to ask about his superior's business.
The following day at school.
Before the math quiz…
Mr. Pierce, who was promoted to the position of headmaster, was going to hand out the test papers. Before that, he glanced at Janice, surprised to see her awake, "Our school is a public one founded by Mr. Hahn. We've never enrolled losers and wasted our resources. Whether you'll stay down or get expelled depends on your daily performance. Quizzes and exams will be included in your ratings. The evaluation work will start after this quiz."
Following Mr. Pierce's gaze, many students looked over at the cold-faced Janice.
Usually, her curly long hair would hang loosely, and she lay there sleeping all the time.
Today, she looked refreshed instead of snoring in her sleep.
Her long hair was tied up and her delicate face was revealed.
She looked sharper than ever.
But her sitting posture remained lazy.
She had the vibe of a solitary loser who was indifferent to everything.
Wasn't she always like this?
She got goose eggs at an elite school. She could do better as long as she got those simple questions right.
She rarely made any friends nor joined any cliques.
She was a lone wolf.
She went to and left school alone every day.
Then again, given her poor origins, no one would look up to her.
In fact, people declined to befriend a poor wretch.
From this perspective, Janice was quite pitiful.
Surprisingly, she came to school this morning.
People secretly discussed with each other. She offended the marshal and survived it?
What a stroke of luck!
Perhaps, the marshal was unwilling to dirty his hands and thus spared the lowly girl from the ghetto.
"Some people don't know shame and their poor performance. Today, I want to say one thing. Our school needs no losers!" Mr. Pierce came up, slammed the courseware down on Janice's desk, and continued contemptuously, "Janice! I'm talking about you. Don't you know how terrible you are? After the test, you won't come tomorrow cuz you're expelled… from… this… school!"
"Why? Did I not pay enough tuition? Did I break any rules?"
Janice squinted at the principal. She was not a disrespectful girl, but the other party provoked her first.
She was parentless, but it didn't mean everyone could bully her.
