Chapter 8 New Vice-Principal

Jingle…

The recess bell rang.

"Time's up, hand in your papers." Mr. Pierce demanded.

The students passed on the papers from the last row to the front.

Unprecedentedly, there were characters in Janice's papers this time.

And they were dense. Not a single blank was left.

Reina had got the cheat sheet from Mr. Pierce in advance. At that moment, she was talking confidently with her desk mate.

Out of the corner of her eye, she glanced at Janice.

The girl was packing her stationery indifferently. Her face was tired and expressionless.

As she lowered her head, her long curly ponytail hung loosely. Her big eyes were pretty. Her thick eyelashes were long and curly. Overall, she looked like a Barbie doll.

"Janice, that was awesome when you challenged Reina. After all, she is notoriously narrow-minded. People who offend her come to bad ends." Sterling Harris was the naughtiest student in the class. Sitting in the front, he accosted her for the first time.

The boy gave her a thumbs up. His face was filled with admiration.

Janice was cold to people other than Kameron. "It's alright. A beggar can never be bankrupt." She pouted.

Sterling's desk mate, Jack Stone, joined in the conversation, "I saw your papers. You answered all the questions. You did a good job this time, I suppose."

The others' desks were connected, and everyone had his deskmate.

Janice, a lone wolf, moved her desk to the last row and sat alone from day one at this school.

Since no new students were transferred here, the seats had been fixed.

Janice lazily placed her foot on the frame below her desk, "I did fine."

Reina rolled her eyes. She was pretending! How was it possible that the poorest student in this class could solve such difficult math questions?

Just then…

The bald headmaster planned to grab the papers and get out.

The vice-principal appeared at the door.

In terms of position, the vice principal was inferior to him, but Mr. Pierce always bowed and scraped in front of the former, "What brought you here? If you need anything, you can just send someone to call me and save the trip."

"I plan to mark the test papers in person this time." The vice-principal said.

Mr. Pierce stroked the few hairs on his head, "It's just a quiz. You don't have to take the trouble."

"The test is designed by an expert from the Ministry of Education. The aim is to select talents, so the job should not be sloppy. I insist on doing it myself. Besides, most of the questions are proof ones."

The vice-principal said with a serious face, "Different ideas yield different approaches. If the markers can't comprehend the questions thoroughly, misjudgments will happen. Are you sure you understand each question?"

A sweat broke out on Mr. Pierce's forehead, "Please go ahead with your review. Only there is one student dragging us down. She is going to be expelled for her poor performance! Her grade… shouldn't be included in this class and my KPIs."

"Which student?" The vice-principal asked.

"Janice." Mr. Pierce answered

"I see." The vice-principal carried the large stack of papers in his arms and left through the hallway.

Jack asked his desk mate in surprise, "What is the background of the vice-principal? Why is the bald man so afraid of him?"

Should the bald headmaster have someone he feared?

As the principal, he didn't have many jinxes in this school.

He usually punished the students and teachers as he liked.

He was domineering and unbridled.

Someone who could restrain the bald man suddenly appeared. Many students were excited about it.

"Rumor has it he works for the Ministry of Education and used to be a professor at Harvard University." The Harris Family was a prestigious clan not only in Carmel City but even in Imperial City.

Although Sterling usually kept a low profile at school, he was well-informed.

Many students came up to hear the gossip.

Sterling scratched his head and lowered his voice. There was a tinge of confusion in his tone, "I don't know why Mr. West was transferred here from the Ministry of Education. Appointed principal of our school, he then learned that Mr. Pierce was the current principal. Since the latter didn't fail his job, Mr. West took the position of vice-principal."

"Oh."

This was what it was.

Everyone took a tumble.

Not interested in the gossip among those students, Janice rested her head on the desk, preparing to sleep through the upcoming music class.

Because of the exposure of her involvement in the chamber of commerce and Mr. Hahn's displeasure, she didn't sleep well last night.

She had nightmares and dreamed of his angry face.

"Janice." In her drowsiness, she heard someone calling her.
