Chapter 10 No One You Couldn't Afford to Offend

Horrible dark circles were under Kameron's eyes while a hint of bloodlust still lingered.

He looked like a beast lurking in the shadows.

At any time, he might pounce on her and devour her.

Janice's heart raced as she approached the man slowly, "Mr. Hahn, what… what's wrong?"

"Miss Dillard, our marshal fought bandits in the mountains. He hasn't slept for one day and one night." Zayn reminded her sensibly.

Janice was confused, "Let him sleep then."

What was the point of seeing her?

"You are the cure for our marshal, Miss Dillard." Zayn said expectantly.

Cure?

Janice blushed.

So, it was his insomnia. Whenever he lost sleep, he would hold her as if she were a doll.

With her by his side, Mr. Hahn could easily fall asleep.

So, he called her over to be the cure.

As soon as the girl came close…

The solemn man yanked her into his arms without warning.

She flailed.

The little woman struggled in his arms.

The ferocity in Kameron's eyes grew stronger, "Unwilling?"

"Yes."

Upon hearing his deep, attractive voice, Janice stopped flailing.

Her earlobes flushed instantly.

Kameron snorted lightly before carrying her upstairs.

In the blink of an eye, she was gently placed on a soft king-size bed.

Kameron put his bent leg on the bed and loosened two buttons of his iron-gray uniform.

His sexy collarbones looked like two inverse crescents and his well-defined pectoral muscles could be vaguely seen.

His face was close at hand.

The scent of orchid musk unique to the man assailed her nostrils.

Her heart in her throat, Janice stuttered, "S… sir, you must be exhausted from fighting… the bandits…"

No sooner had her voice died away than he rained down his kisses.

Didn't… he just want to sleep with her? Why did he kiss her?

His big lungs ensured a long kiss.

He didn't stop it until she nearly fainted from hypoxia.

His weight bore down on her soft body.

"Sir, were you injured during the skirmish?" Janice's voice was naturally sweet and soothing.

The man held her soft body tightly, "No."

"That's good news. If you are injured, see the medic as soon as you can." Janice stroked his bristles in the dark night.

Kameron gave no response, but his breathing became heavy.

Janice gingerly pulled over the quilt and covered it over him, "Sleep, sir, have a good rest."

"How is school?" The man turned sideways and wrapped his arms around her.

Silly girl! He was on top of her, and she didn't resist.

Could she bear his weight all night?

Janice fidgeted, "It's alright. Mr. Hahn, did I wake you?"

"No one bullied you?" It seemed he had heard about something.

"There are people causing me trouble, but I can easily handle them with the skills you taught me."

"Janice, remember this. There is no one in Carmel City you couldn't afford to offend. Do whatever you want." Kameron sounded like a majestic and domineering king.

"Sure, Mr. Hahn, I'll bear it in mind." Janice chuckled.

"Sleep tight." Kameron held her and stopped the conversation.

Janice lost sleep.

Since she went to high school at the age of 15, she rarely had time to go to the base.

As far as she could remember, she had never slept with him again ever since that.

And he hadn't come to see her.

She thought that his insomnia was cured.
