Chapter 10 Keep Quiet
Another night had passed. A tired Kimora struggled to rise from the desk.
It seemed she was dreaming again last night.
In her dream, the man's eyes looked familiar and distant.
Kimora sorted out her thoughts, washed up simply, and prepared to go the rounds of the wards as usual.
When she reached Ward #6, she halted her steps and looked through the window at the back of a man inside.
He was here all night?
Kimora checked on the little one without waking Murphy and then went to check other wards. Only she couldn't visit that woman.
Zoie recovered well but refused to tell Davian the truth. She wanted him to hate Kimora to the core! She hoped that he would divorce her and cut all ties.
"Zoie, I brought you breakfast."
Davian pushed the door open and got in. His pretty eyes were gentle only in front of her.
"Thank you, Davian. You're busy and still bring me food every day." Zoie pursed her lips. Holding the spoon, her hand trembled, "Davian, I had a dream again last night. The thought of our child makes me sad."
Her face fell as she looked at her belly sadly.
Her uterus was removed? What did that mean? She could not be a mother again.
Davian pulled open the curtains and took a deep breath. He was also full of hatred. Kimora, that viper! She took advantage of her profession and committed a crime. Her doing was disgusting.
His eyes turned fierce. He squeezed the curtain so tightly as if he would tear it off the next second.
"Davian, restrain your grief." Zoie comforted him affectedly. Every man would be distressed to see her tears, and he was no exception.
"Zoie, I'll treat you well even without kids."
A depressed Davian excused himself to leave.
When he walked past Ward #6, he happened to see Kimora talking with Murphy, who had just woken up.
"We still need to observe him for a while. No rush with kidney replacement since the patient is quite weak."
Kimora's voice was hoarse. Before going rounds of the wards, she didn't have any water.
"Okay." Murphy responded blandly. His bloodshot eyes glanced at the table, "My assistant just bought breakfast. Dr. Guthrie, will you join me?"
Kimora slowly shook her head and stuck her hands in the pockets, saying, "Thanks, I'm not hungry."
She was lying. When she woke up half an hour ago, her stomach gurgled a protest.
But Kimora knew her place. As a doctor and Davian's wife, she should keep a respectful distance from Murphy.
As soon as she got out of the ward, a shadow flashed by, grabbed her hands, and pushed her to the wall. Davian pressed her menacingly, and she found it boring.
Looked like he was going to pick another fight.
Kimora curled her lips and leisurely stuck her aching hands in her pockets. Her eyes were indifferent. With annoyance, she opened her mouth, "Please do not disturb me during my working hours."
"I don't want it either, but you owe me a child!" Davian was temperamental. Kimora didn't need to think to know that Zoie must have talked ill of her.
Few people were in the corridor. Occasionally, nurses passed by and glanced at them.
Murphy heard the noise outside, furrowed his brow, and soon showed up in front of them, "Solve your conflict outside. In the hospital, please keep quiet."
Gerald took pains to coax Kody Haney to sleep. Given Davian's reaction, he would wake everyone on this floor.
