Chapter 9 Rightful Mrs. Moore

6 p.m. in the car bound for the big mansion,

Alison felt a little nervous.

She was familiar with the old man but only saw Jason's mother a couple of times from a distance.

She was a valiant and decisive woman.

And she held a high position in Moore Group and was deemed an iron lady, which brought Alison immense pressure.

"Nervous?"

As Jason's slightly joyful voice came over, Alison nodded, "Mm, a little."

"What for?" Jason sounded cool, "You've got me."

Alison was stunned.

Was... he flirting with her?

"My mother doesn't know about my condition, so don't goof up." Jason reminded her.

Alison nodded, and even her gaze at him turned soft and sympathetic, "Okay."

It felt like as long as he showed his weak side, she would do anything for him.

Jason found it funny and took a bottle of mineral water. It happened that the car passed by a speed bump, and he failed to exert strength. As a result, the bottle of the water was not opened.

Alison stiffened at his move.

He was reduced to this?

Wasn't he strong when he scooped her this afternoon...

"I can do it for you."

Alison took the bottle from his hand, twisted off the lid, and handed it back, "There you go."

Jason was stunned.

The corners of his lips curved up, "Thank you."

Alison smiled, "You're welcome."

Jason found it more fun. This little woman seemed to take great pleasure in being needed.

Take the bowl of porridge this morning for example.

The car ran all the way to the parking lot of the big mansion. Jason got off and took the lead to walk towards the entrance. Before he could walk more steps, he felt Alison didn't catch up and thus turned back for a glance.

In a blue dress and high-heels, the woman pinched the hem of her dress and walked cautiously on the flagging.

She looked like a lonely and lofty cat.

Standing still, Jason waited for her till she caught up and then reached out his arm as a signal for her to hold.

Under the breeze, the faint mint fragrance from the man permeated the place. His gaze was not on her, and his angular side face was gilded with a layer of gentle light by the setting sun.

He looked divine and elegant.

"Watch your steps."

At his faint voice, Alison instantly moved back her eyes and blushed with embarrassment.

Informed by the servant beforehand, Jason's mother, Sarah Herb, had been waiting at the entrance not far away. Standing by her side was another graceful woman.

Her figure was slender, and her make-up delicate.

When she saw the woman's appearance clearly, Alison was slightly dazed. It was Mia Vishon, the new film queen.

Why was she here?

As soon as Sarah spotted Alison by Jason's side, her eyebrows furrowed. She called him three times, but he didn't come. When he finally showed up, he brought a female guest with him.

Was he trying to embarrass her?

He knew that the dinner tonight was to make a match between Mia and him.

"Sarah, what's going on? Why is Jason bringing over a woman?" Asked Mia.

Sarah remained calm on the surface, "Relax."

When they came over, Sarah swept a glance at Alison and spoke to Jason, "Son, what is this?"

"This is Alison." Jason sounded cool, "The rightful Mrs. Moore."

Alison hastened to introduce herself, "Hello, auntie, my name is Alison."

Alison? Mrs. Moore?

Sarah frowned at her, "Come to the living room."

After they entered the room, Sarah comforted the unhappy Mia, "Don't worry, I'll ask about it first."

Mia forced a smile, "I'm okay, auntie, don't worry. Jason is stubborn, and I can understand it."

Sarah looked gratified. This was how a proper daughter-in-law should be like.

Generous and calm.
