Chapter 10 Was He Standing Up For That Woman

Upon hearing the steady footsteps from behind, Christian turned around, went up, and threw herself into Clifford's arms. Her face full of grievances, but her eyes were filled with provocation when she gazed at Lori.

She was like, say, what? Weren't you so cocky? Your husband was with me, come and get him.

"What are you doing here?" Clifford held Christian and asked Lori.

"There is no sign at the door that says I can't get in."

She and Clark chose this restaurant because both of them held shares. It was called patronage.

Arching her eyebrow, Lori took a glance at the two and spoke to Clark, "Let's finish the food and then hang out for some fun!"

Clark took a knowing glance at Lori, then the other two, and provoked Clifford, "Mr. Gates, you keep standing there. Do you want to join us?"

The others might fear such kinds of men, but Clark didn't!

"Sure!"

Following his words, Clifford let go of Christian and then sat next to Lori. He'd like to see if she would be jealous when he was with another woman.

Clifford was annoyed by her calm face! He was irritated! He'd like to see how long this woman could bear it!

He replied quicker than Lori could respond.

Then the man already sat next to her!

She turned her head sideways and saw that V-shaped scar.

The scar was ridicule to her!

"Oh, that's right. A young couple should not eat at separate tables! But Mr. Gates, keep an eye on Lori. There are too many hot guys out there. If your wife runs away, don't blame me, but I've reminded you." While speaking, Clark didn't forget to take a glance at the furious Christian next to her and scorned, "Nowadays, if your wife runs away, it will be hard to get her back. Those women outside, however, are just like weeds. Every single one of them is all for fame and fortune. As long as one has money, he can get them easily! Mr. Gates, you are so reckless. If you are infected by some virus, wouldn't it be unfair to Lori?"

"Heh, how could it be! Mrs. Gates is all for the marriage. Do you think she'll get a divorce?"

Clifford lifted his hand and casually threw his arm around Lori's waist. Her waist was so thin and soft that Clifford couldn't help exerting strength to pull her closer to himself.

The scent she yearned for, and a faint smell of tobacco from his body assaulted her nostrils. Lori lifted her head and met with the contempt in his eyes, "Mrs. Gates, am I right?"

Without a word, Lori snorted and continued with her dinner.

The atmosphere was weird. Since another two joined, Clark beckoned to the waiter to bring over the menu.

The girl should have lost her mind as she ordered many expensive dishes!

In a minute, the dishes spread over the table. There was even a bottle of vintage wine that cost tens of thousands.

Noticing her proud look, Lori rolled her eyes, then took a glass of milk delivered by Clark, and sent it to her mouth for a sip.

"Since wine is ordered, why drinking milk?"

Before she could take another sip, the glass in her head was snatched away and changed into a goblet half-filled with wine.

Lori's eyebrows furrowed. What did the man mean? Standing up for that woman?

"I'm driving today, so I can't drink!"

Lori pursed her lips and placed it on the table, ready to fetch her milk.

"You won't need to drive tonight!"

Lori was stunned to see Clifford gulping down the milk because she just drank from that glass.

As a squeamish man, Clifford never touched the same objects with others. But angered by his provocative eyes, she really wanted to burst, pound the table, and leave as she used to do.

However, after four years of torment, she was well aware of the man's devilish side when he dealt with her.

Oblivious to everything, she picked up the goblet on the table, tossed off the wine, turned it upside down, and showed indifference in her cat's eyes.

"Is this good enough?"

Arching his eyebrow, Clifford gazed at Lori and pursed his lips without a word. Deep down, he didn't feel delighted that she obediently drank the wine. In the meanwhile, he exerted more strength to his grip of her waist.

The atmosphere was extremely awkward!

"Cliff, why don't we dine somewhere else?"

Before Christian could get a reply, Clark humiliated her first.

"The couple is displaying a little affection. Why are you meddling? Do you think you are some rich lady? Go to the bathroom and look into the mirror!"

"Clark!" Lori snarled. She didn't hope to see Clifford losing face in public. Although he didn't care, she was sick of those gossip behind her back. All these years, she heard too much of it!

Forcefully she shoved Clifford's hand off, "Since you like to dine here, excuse me, we still have other arrangements and can't keep you company! Clark, let's go!"

She picked up her bag and coat on the couch, ready to leave.

"Stop!"
