Chapter 11 None of Your Business
The roar from behind sent a shiver down Lori's spine. Turning around, she faced Clifford's sullen face.
Now he knew the taste of being neglected?
"Anything else?"
"Where are you going?"
Was he having fun? He'd like to see who dared to get his hands on his woman.
"None of your business!"
"Heh... I'd like to see if I can put my foot in it!"
Under people's gazes, Lori was dragged out by Clifford. The pain from her wrist made her doubt if her bone was crumbed.
"Clifford, are you crazy?"
Lori snarled.
"Crazy? I wouldn't mind being crazier."
"You... hmm."
Under a yank, she bumped into the black Maserati sports car and got pinned down. Her lips were plundered unscrupulously, and the air in her mouth became thinner.
Her heart was like being stabbed, and the blade was soon drawn out. She could feel the spurting blood.
"How about this? If you want stronger humiliation, I won't mind it!"
Her indifferent gaze made him unpleasant, very unpleasant, extremely unpleasant!
His devilish voice came amid gasps. With one hand, Lori covered her heaving chest and glared at Clifford, "You are a lunatic!"
"Lunatic? Ha-ha... Lori, I tell you what, you pushed it. I will torture you until Hermione comes back! You wanna a divorce? I tell you what, don't even think about it!"
As her bright cat's eyes became misty, Clifford froze for a while, then turned his head away, pulled open the door, and stuffed her into the car!
Along the way, Lori remained silent. Pursing her lips, she kept her eyes closed and her face towards the window.
The oppression and pain surged in her chest.
She recalled the happiest night for every woman! She recalled her body bathed in blood, and her eyes filled with anxiety. She remembered the wild horror when she faced darkness every time!
But Clifford knew nothing about it. Even if he did, he would probably say that she deserved it.
When the car stopped in front of red light, he saw Lori's heaving chest, and his grip on the steering wheel became tighter.
As he thought of the possibility that she was going to fool around with men, anger spewed up in him, and he desperately needed a place to vent it. Now she was sitting next to him and breathing the same air. That relieved him to some extent.
All of a sudden, Lori opened her eyes and stared coldly at the dusky world outside the windshield.
"We should divorce!"
Clark was correct. Since he didn't love her, why should she persist so humbly? She was not sure how long she could still hold up against the torture.
His stifled anger was reignited instantly.
"What did you say?"
Facing his fierce eyes, Lori said indifferently, "We should divorce!"
After so many years, this was the first time that she disapproved of her persistence! She loved him and was willing to die for him. But now she was no longer alone. She had a son to attend to!
Clark was correct. She had a lot of admirers and many good men around her. They treated her well and loved her. Why should she stay in the grave of marriage forever? It was a torment to both people.
It had been four years, but that woman was still in his heart. She wondered what was so great about that woman. She only met her once, and the woman looked thin and weak. Was the woman so great that he could neglect everything she did for him?
As a force wrapped around her neck, Lori found it hard to breathe.
His angry roar went into her ears.
"What did you say? Say it again!"
Lori didn't speak nor struggle. Due to the oxygen deficit, her face reddened and showed pain. Her mouth was slightly open, and her bright cat's eyes became bloodshot. Tears were welling up, and she stared blankly at Clifford.
A drop of tear fell from the corner of her eye, trickled down her cheek, and landed on the back of Clifford's hand.
After a moment of daze, he immediately loosened his grip as if he sobered up. The tear on his hand instantly turned cold, but he found it scalding and indelible.
Lori finally got air but coughed violently because she inhaled too fast.
Amid the hoot from the cars behind, Lori heard Clifford saying, "If I'm not emancipated, you will not live a comfortable life!"
Judging from the sound from his gritted teeth, Lori didn't doubt his words!
